19TH C. TIBETAN STUPA
Large Tibetan stupa in wood with polychrome. 33 inches high. Colors are slightly darker than the picture, which was lightened to show the detail. The colors were no doubt darkened by exposure to incense in the temple. All the levels are painted with auspicious symbols, tigers, and carved beasts on the sides. Our favorite stupa of the ones we have had. And we have not seen another since. $4000
